Update 03/08 ***Investigatory report into the potential data breach is expected by noon Friday 04/08. Customers will be updated as soon as the report has been received***
Announcement 28/07: As you may be aware, we experienced a service outage today which has now been resolved. The outage was a knock-on effect of the previous outage, caused through a technical communications issue within the data center. A resolution at the time was to move to a different network and run the system as normal. We then noticed potentially malicious software on our server and immediately addressed this.
We are currently investigating whether a breach of our customers data occurred through the software. At this time, we do not believe any breach occurred. Information which could potentially have been breached includes account details for car registration, mobile number, email, and permit holder submission forms (proof of address and licence).
However, please note that account passwords are encrypted and would not have been breached. In addition, credit/debit card information is stored on our payment provider’s server and is encrypted. This information remains secure and complies with best practice industry standards (PCI certified) and would not have been breached either.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.
We will continue to update you here, and directly following the investigation. Customers who were unsuccessful at getting through to our Customer Care team by phone today was due to the system outage. Our team tried their best to support customers via chat, email, and social media throughout the day.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in
