Update 04/08: Thank you for your patience while we conducted an investigation into the recent service outage and potential data breach.  We have completed initial investigations now and can inform you of the following.

We are certain that the customers passwords and credit/debit card details were not compromised, as they are encrypted and stored in a secure manner with our payment providers servers, in full compliance with international PCI standards. We do not believe that any of customer data was compromised but we cannot say this with 100% certainty at this stage (further investigation continues). Information which may have been accessed includes mobile phone number, vehicle registration, email address, and permit application details (address and license).

We take the security of customers personal data very seriously. We have and continue to follow best-practice and industry standards for ensuring the security of both our customers data and our systems. We have identified and strengthened procedures we had in place, and we will be rolling out additional levels of security as further preventative and security measures.

We sincerely apologise for this potential breach to our customers data. If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to ask. We will answer your query and update all customers here with general questions we receive and their answers.

Update 03/08 ***Investigatory report into the potential data breach is expected by noon Friday 04/08. Customers will be updated as soon as the report has been received***

Announcement 28/07: As you may be aware, we experienced a service outage today which has now been resolved. The outage was a knock-on effect of the previous outage, caused through a technical communications issue within the data center.  A resolution at the time was to move to a different network and run the system as normal. We then noticed potentially malicious software on our server and immediately addressed this.

We are currently investigating whether a breach of our customers data occurred through the software. At this time, we do not believe any breach occurred. Information which could potentially have been breached includes account details for car registration, mobile number, email, and permit holder submission forms (proof of address and licence).

However, please note that account passwords are encrypted and would not have been breached. In addition, credit/debit card information is stored on our payment provider’s server and is encrypted. This information remains secure and complies with best practice industry standards (PCI certified) and would not have been breached either.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.

We will continue to update you here, and directly following the investigation. Customers who were unsuccessful at getting through to our Customer Care team by phone today was due to the system outage. Our team tried their best to support customers via chat, email, and social media throughout the day.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch.
